During these roundtables, we talk about what it's like to be a man today and what is going on in our lives. 11/17 Tuesday 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM Everyone knows that the holidays can be a hard and challenging time (even under normal circumstances). With the upcoming holiday season just around the corner and it being like nothing we have experienced before, we are bound to feel stressed, exhausted, anxious, worried, frustrated, heartbroken and disconnected from each other. In this roundtable discussion, we talk about how to healthily deal with these feelings. We discuss healthy coping skills, how to set boundaries, self-care skills and most importantly how to love yourself and others through this holiday season.

Meetings will be open discussions on specific topics such as developing friendships at work, skills to keep the job, self-advocacy at work, and applying for a promotion.
Refundable upon completion 10/21 to 12/16 Wednesdays 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM Pre-Employment – The Pre-Employment Job Club is for young adults who do not have any job experience. Meetings will be guided discussions and skill development in networking, resume refinement, interview skills, self-advocacy, and social skills.

Participants will introduce their dog or a favorite dog, review how to care for a dog, make a dog treat together along with a fun accessory! All ages and dog lovers are welcome.

In this workshop, participants will follow the guidance of an instructor to make a Thankful Leaf Stone. The focus and purpose for this activity is to encourage participants to express their gratitude using the senses sight (colors) and touch (texture of the objects involved) as symbolism for their emotional inner being. Cost for supplies is included in the class price. Supplies kits will be mailed to each participant prior to the class. Materials will include: styrofoam square board, craft adhesive, Mod Podge, artificial autumn Leaves, acrylic paint, sequins, and paint brushes.

In this workshop, participants will follow the guidance of an instructor to make a Jingle Bell Ornament. The focus and purpose for this activity is to encourage participants to encourage participant to be creative using the senses of sound, sight, and touch to decorate an ornament during the winter holiday season. Cost for supplies is included in the class price. Supplies kits will be mailed to each participant prior to the class. Materials will include: clear fillable ornament, acrylic paint, miniature jingle bells, small pom pom balls, decorative ribbon, paint brushes, and Elmers adhesive spray.

Non-refundable fee Postponed Wednesdays 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM Unicorn Foundation is offering “Facing Life’s Challenges with More Self-Compassion” an introduction course to mindfulness practices to help improve personal well-being of caretakers of loved ones with disabilities and for young adults with disabilities. The course consists of 4 classes and will introduce the mindfulness practices of sitting meditation, body scan meditation, loving-kindness meditation, and using movement as a stress reducer. During this course participants will learn how mindfulness can help in reducing stress, improve resilience, and gain more attentiveness to the present moment.

Non-refundable fee 9/21 to 10/12 (4 weeks) Mondays 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM Unicorn Children’s Foundation is partnering with the Specialty Coffee Association to offer industry certification courses for individuals with special needs interested in learning about and working within the coffee industry, or perhaps own their own business. Participants in the Introduction to Coffee will learn fundamental skills needed to work as a Barista. From growing the cherries through grading, roasting, and brewing, this module provides an overview of the coffee value chain. The course also gives an overview of customer service within the coffee retail industry, giving students the tools needed for employment within a coffee retail environment. Participants who have completed the course and pass a an exam will receive a certificate of completion from the Specialty Coffee Association.
