ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING A RESPITE COMPANION TRAINER?


A REST Trainer seeks to improve ties within the community by offering training workshops to those who provide companionship to caregivers. A REST Trainer often implements programs that provide respite services to caregivers, or looks to identify needs of caregivers in the community in which they belong. They may currently provide training to others, or they may wish to start a new training program.


WHO SHOULD APPLY?
Individuals who are employed as a caregiver or are interested in volunteering to train others as caregivers.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
A REST Trainer is required to serve as a presenter, a facilitator, and most importantly an ambassador
of the REST Program, Special Needs Advisory Committee and the Palm Beach Respite Committee.


• Have general knowledge of respite care and developmental/intellectual disabilities
• Experience teaching groups of adults
• Experience facilitating groups preferred
